Firstly I am sorry i missed this weekends letter. Myself and my wife have been put through the ringer with our baby Rio. He has decided to run with a sleep when your dead kind of style so we have been navigating that all week which has lead to two very tired zombies.

My business Shaka Pottery has a fathers day drop coming up this weekend so its been extremely busy in the workshop.

I usually wake up early around 5 am to work on this letter but this past week and currently i just cannot do it, every minute of sleep right now feels like winning the lotto haha! Something no one can prepare you with as a parent is the sleep deprivation. I know every single parent deals with it at some stage but jeez why do babies struggle so much to find a regular sleep pattern! Two words i would like to never hear again is “regression” and “leap”

What ended up being a blessing in disguise, i competed in a Jui Jitsu competition on Sunday that was in an area almost 2 hours away. So we thought why not make a little holiday out of it and spent 3 nights in Bussleton. It was epic, just what we needed at the time to find some sort of refresh. Macy had an absolute blast, she thrives off our attention so when Harriet and I are both present with her and Harriet can tend to Rio when needed without dropping whatever activity Macy is doing, she is a beam of light!

The Jui Jitsu competition was my 2nd time competing and i WON! Took home a nice gold medal winning 2 fights. Thats 2 gold medals in 2 competitions and the first time my family has watched me. We were actually a little worried if Macy would find it stressful watching me fight. As i approached the mat waiting to be called out to begin fighting i was looking at her feeling very nervous. I walked out and the fight was on…within 30 seconds i took my opponent down and i hear Macy screaming GOOOO DADDDYY GOOO DADDY! It was the best thing ever!!

So we decided next time we are finding everything stressful…Lets bail for a weekend.
