This weeks letter is short, sweet and very effective! I went years without doing this and only implemented this 8 months ago. It is amazing how much clarity you gain if you spend a small amount of time planning and asking yourself key questions.
I always felt like i was working, working, working and boom. The day is gone and i haven’t achieved much at all. Time blocking and batching tasks for the day is a such a hack to move forward faster!
Now there is obviously more that needs to be done after you write for 15 minutes but, you start the day with a clear picture and your brain some how just works better extending on the task at hand leading to a quality output of your work.
Let's dive into the 15-minute ritual that's been a total game-changer for me!
🔥 The 15-Minute Planning Ritual:
Minute 1-3: Gratitude & Wins 🙏
Jot down 3 things you're grateful for
Celebrate yesterday's wins (big or small!)
Minute 4-6: Big Picture Check 🗺️
Review your monthly and quarterly goals
Ask: "Are my daily actions aligned with these?"
Minute 7-10: Priority Setting 🎯
List your top 3 priorities for the day
Be specific! "Create content" becomes "Write newsletter draft"
Minute 11-13: Time Blocking ⏰
Assign specific time slots to your priorities
Don't forget to schedule breaks!
Minute 14-15: Obstacle Smashing 💪
Identify potential roadblocks
Plan how you'll overcome them
💡 Quick Tip: Do this first thing in the morning, before checking emails or social media!
My Personal Planning Routine:
5:00 AM: Wake up, write for myself and this newsletter(This kickstarts my head) 6:00AM: Kids wake up and coffeeee! 7:00 AM: Begin locking in and running ideas in my head for the day 7:30 AM: Write for 15 minutes planning my day 7:45 AM: Get dressed and go smash out my first priority task.
To go little further, after you finish work or before you go to bed brain dump again on tasks and ideas that popped up in your day and it becomes easier to plan ahead the following morning.
